Dark City (1998)
Review:I give this movie 3 1/2 tickets. It was a very original ideal, and well made. It is very dark and has a lot of twist and turns in it. I would recommend seeing the Director's cut for New Line Cinema forced Alex Proyas to include the opening with a narration by Kiefer Sutherland, and gives away several key plot twists. The Director's cut took this out and it made it much better. Rufus Sewell, and Kiefer Sutherland give great performances. As a Sci-fi, Mystery this keeps you wondering what is going on. After the opening we see John Murdoch as he awakes in a bath tub. With no memory and the police after him for murders he can't even remember he is on the run. Now enter the Strangers who rule this would and put everyone to sleep at 12:00 am to fix things as they want them to understand the human soul. John Murdoch finds out he now has some of the Strangers powers and with the help of Dr. Daniel P. Schreber (Kiefer Sutherland), who was helping the Strangers, figure out what they are up to and to stop them and make the world better. I know i left out a lot of points and plots to this review but I do not want to give away to much because it would take away from the movie if you should decide to see it. I recommend this movie to those who liked The Matrix. As it happens a lot of the set was sold to the Matrix after shooting was done.
Enjoy the Show!

Cube (1997)
Review:
I give this 5 out of 5 ticket. This has the best opening sence of any movie I have seen to date. The way it makes you think and how the actors will survive this deadly Cube was way ahead of its time. If you love Horror, Mystery, and Sci-Fi, you will love this movie. From the moment you start to watch you can feel how scared the actors are and that how they have no clue as to why they are there. Each one of them has a reason to be there, to work together to get out of the Cube with out hitting the traps. The traps, although not as many as i would have liked, were well thought out and for its time flawless. This movie is a MUST SEE. There are parts that slow down the movie but the reason for it was needed so that flaw is only a minor one. There are great lines in the movie and quoting them is fun, even when others who have not seen it look at you like your crazy.
Enjoy the Show!

Escape from L.A. (1996)
Review:
I give this one 3 tickets. Get ready for a wild ride that pits you across a ruined L.A. and a world in which I would never want to live in. No smoking? Forget that. Kurt Russell comes back as Snake Plissken, the biggest bad-ass war hero anti-hero who was on the run from the law. After he gets caught he ends up with a misson from the Now permanent President of the Unite States. As Snake is injected with a virus to make him do what they want him to do, and in only 9 hours, he finds himself in L.A. running against time to get back what the President lost and save the world yet again.
The CGI in the film is a little weak but its not as bad as some movie's. This has a lot of action and Kurt Russell has some of the greatest lines in the movie. Steve Buscemi also has some great parts in the film as he trays to stop Snake then joins up with him. This a good movie to the first Escape (from New York), and has a very in you face action. Enjoy the Show!

Lord of Illusions (1995)
Review:
I give this 4 out of 5 ticket. I really enjoyed Scott Bakula in this role. Clive Barker is the writer, screenplay, and director and does a great job with this horror, mystery, thriller film. In the opening of the film you see a car driving in a desert. Swann and a few ex-followers of Nix are going to bind him and save a girl (Dorothea) that Nix kidnapped. Nix the leader of a evil cult, is trying to have Swann as his right hand man and ends up giving Swann some of his powers. Then Dorothea shots Nix in the head and Swann and his friends bind him with a metal mask they made so Nix could not come back. Now it's 13 years later and a follower of Nix is looking for his body, is killing off the members that helped Swann kill Nix. NY private investigator Harry D'Amour (Scott Bakula) on a routine case finds one of the members of the cult that helped Swann with a ton of knives stuck in him. Right before he dies he tells D'Amour a little bit about whats going on.
Swann is now a popular illusionist and is married to Dorothea. Playing for large crowds with his "illusions" one of them goes wrong and ends up killing him. Now Dorothea and D'Amour are in a fight for there lives as the evil cults are about to bring back Nix. Swann's butler knew where Nix was buried and was taking by a true follower of Nix so he could bring him back.
We find out that Swann fakes his death when he could not stay away from his own funeral. Now with the help of Swann, D'Amour goes to face Nix and rescue Dorothea from him yet again.
The special Effects were not the greatest in this film but they could have been worse.
Enjoy the Show!

TREMORS (1990)
Review:
Deep in the ground there lives a horror waiting to come and eat you.
Tremors starts off with Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward out in the desert. We first see Valentine McKee played by Kevin Bacon who is mostly called Val, taking a piss near his truck. After that he walks over to the truck and trys very softly to wake up his partner in work Earl Bassett played by Fred Ward. When this does not woke Val looks over seeing the 3 cows in the field plays a trick on Earl, by jumping up and down makeing the truck rock he starts yelling, stampede. Earl freaks out and starts trying to get up still in his sleeping bag rolls out of the truck and looks up. Seeing that the 3 cows are just standing around he relaxes and tell's off Val.
The movie goes along there day as they do odd jobs as handy-men. Fixing a fence, takeing out trash and so on. On there way back to the town Perfection, Nevada they see the new grade student Rhonda LeBeck played by the lovely Finn Carter. She asks them if there is anyone doing any work in the ground with explosions. There is no one doing anything and she thinks her machines are broken as she is a seismologist (studys vibrations in the ground) and can't find out why the machines she uses are acting the way they are.
As Val and Earl decide to leave the town they come to someone stuck high on a tower. After playing Rocks, Paper, Scissors, Val climbs up and finds a town man dead. He died by thrist staying up the tower for 3-4 days. Val and Earl try to leave again and see Old Freds sheep all torn up with blood and guts everywhere, they stop and go looking for Old Fred and after looking all around the small house Val sees Freds hat on the ground and when he picks it up theres Old Fred's head in the ground. Now as they head back to town they come up on 2 road workers. They tell them there is a psycho treaing peoples heads off. The workers don't listen and end up eating by something. As this happens a bunch of hugh rocks falls and covers the road out of town. As they are now cut off from the world they find out that Underground Monsters are going around and are heading right for town. As they fight these unknow monsters, they try to get out of the vally and end up on a hugh rock in the middle of no-where with 2 of these monsters left to kill. As the rest of the town sitting on the rock Earl come up with an ideal. "Kind of like fishing" as he puts it, they get rope an tie a homemade bomb to it and kill one of them. As they try this same trick with the other one it fails to work, because this one is smart and spits out the bomb at them. Now Val, Earl and Rhonda are away from the rock, and on the ground as the monster (now called graboids named by Walter Chang played by Victor Wong) is trying to find them. Val gets an ideal with the last bomb and starts to run to the edge of a cliff and blows the bomb right behind the graboid, as the sound hurts it, it tunnles faster and just at the right time Val jumps and the Graboid falls to it's death. This was a great movie with Comedy | Horror | Sci-Fi mix.
Kevin Bacon
Fred Ward
Michael Gross
Finn Carter
and
Reba McEntire
all play there roles to perfection. (pun intended) You are missing a great movie if you have not seen this movie.
