Death Race (2008)
Review:
I give this 3 tickets. I like Jason Statham in this film as he is a great driver and bad-ass. After losing his job he comes home to his wife and kid and we can see that he loves them and does anything he can to proved for them. We see him kissing his wife and as the heat on that kiss is about to get hotter his little baby girl starts crying from the other room, as Jensen goes to see his baby his wife is murdered by an unknow man in a black ski-mask. When Jensen comes back down he is sprayed in the face by something the murderer has so he can frame Jensen.
Six months later we see Jensen arrive at Terminal Island. He is put into a punk with other scum and as the guards walk away they hear sounds of a fight, as they go to look thinking its Jensen that just got his ass kicked we see him standing there while the others are all bloody and unconscious on the floor. Jensen just says, "They Slipped."
Now we get to the races, Very well thought out and i loved the cars with guns. It is like Twisted Metal. as race one goes by he lives and starts to see something is not right, and see that one of the racers is the one who kills his wife. Now he knows that he was set up by the Warden and will never get out of Terminal Island alive even if he wins. The 2nd race starts with Jensen hunting down the one driver that killed his wife and kills him. Now for the last race its just Jensen and Machine Gun Joe, Frankenstein's enemy, as they race and are trying to kill each other, the Warden making sure that Jensen won't get any weapons so machine gun Joe will win, and as they come to one part Joe shoots and misses blowing apart a side of the track. Now the real race begins as Joe and Jensen race away from the cops.
Six months later Joe and Igor (Joe's nickname for Jensen) are working in Mexico at a car shop repair shop. Jensen has his little girl and all is well. There is much more to the story then what i put here but if i gave you everything then why would you watch?
Enjoy the Show!

Enemy at the Gates
Review:
I thought this was a great movie with Jude Law, Ed Harris, Rachel Weisz, Joseph Fiennes, and Bob Hoskins all playing there parts to the T.
Vassili Zaitsev (Jude Law) is a sniper for the Russians and is the best for the Russians. The movie opens with him as a kid with his grandfather waiting for a wolf, it is to be his first kill with a rifle. Then the movie jumps to the battle as the Russians are taking on the Germans. Vassili Zaitsev is trying to get a rifle but is only handed a clip of bullets. Here we see the Germans destroy the Russian force.
We then cut to a car driving thought the ruins of that battle, the car then crash's and out crawls Commisar Danilov (Joseph Fiennes), who crawls under dead bodies so the passing Germans do no see him. He grabs a rifle and see a few Germans just standing around as there commanding officer is taking a shower. He is shacking because he is not a soldier but is more of a writer for the war. In comes Vassili Zaitsev, and asks for the rifle, as he takes aim he waits for some background noise via a bomb going off near by. He takes out one, then two before anyone else seems to notice. as he kills the commanding officer the last guy sees something is wrong and as he try's to get his gun up and ready Vassili stands up and takes him down.
Now the two are great friends and Vassili is a great marksman in the sniper program. Since then he has killed many officers and has become a threat to the Germans who send there very best sniper Major König (Ed Harris) to deal with him.
Now it becomes a cat and mouse between the two. And the story picks up a love triangle between Vassili and Danilov with the same female soldier Tania Chernova (Rachel Weisz). As the story moves on Tania and Vassili become more involved and Danilov is pissed off.The sniper parts of this movie are great to watch how they keep moveing and try to draw out the other.
Ed Harris and Jude Law and even Bob Hoskins give a performance that leaves you with a feeling of a mixture of happy sad and wonderment
This is one of my fav's in the role of World War 2 movies along with Saving Private Ryan, Inglourious Basterds, U-571, Patton, and so many others.
Enjoy the Show!
